Our Team.
Mil Pasos instructors are trained professionals who have learned the art of dance internationally and locally in various styles. They introduce authentic and urban culture back into dance while training you for fitness needs. Mil Pasos believes that in diversity there is strenght and builds a community based on the love of dance, music and fitness.

Julie Marouze
Founder & Director - teacher

Julie was born and raised in Paris. She starts dance and music classes at 5 years old and keep training and performing in different styles like Ballet, Swing, Hip Hop and Jazz until she moves to Marseille in 2002. There, she joins Freedstyle dance school, where she trains in Salsa, Hip Hop and African dance for 7 years , teaches and performs for french artists like Faudel, Nadiya and Sherifa Luna. She gets a college diploma in "Animation & Events" (2003) as well as "Personal trainer and Fitness/Dance group class instructor (2012). In 2013 she moves to Toronto. She gets hired and trains at Danceology (Ballroom and Latin dance studio). She also passes auditions to teach Madonna's Addicted to Sweat cardio dance concept at Hard Candy Toronto. Trained by Madonna's trainers : Craig Smith, Nicole Winhoffer, she gets the chance to perform with Madonna herself for the Grand Opening in february 2014. She moves back to France between 2016 and 2018 and takes the direction of Mil Pasos in L'Isle sur la Sorgue working with renowed dancers such as Blacko, Juan Cortes and Juichi. She comes back to Canada and open Mil Pasos Studio in Kicthener in 2021 and in Toronto in 2022. She now teaches and performs a wide range of dance styles such as Cuban and Linear Salsa, Bachata, Ballroom, Dancehall Zumba and workouts.

Rafa Yowbrea

Rafa was born and raised in Cuba. He grew up influenced by Cuban Culture and Music. His interest for music and dance as a child is leading him to get inspired also by international artists such as Michael Jackson, Ne-yo, Usher...He starts training in more Urban styles such as Hip Hop, Break Dancing at the age of 10. He starts training in Capoeira in 2007 and find a true passion for it. As a versatile artist, he also becomes a local singer in Reggaeton and performs for various artists such as Laritza Bacallao, La Senorita Dyana between 2010 and 2014. In 2013 he stars working in resorts as a perfomer and as part of the entertainment team. His natural abilities for performing and getting people attention makes him a perfect show man. He leaves on tour around Turkey for 8 months as dancer and Capoeira performer with Steps Production in 2018. It is after moving to Toronto in 2018 that he starts leveling up his training in Latin Dances with Bachata, Salsa and Cha cha cha, as well as working in entertainment for shows with Raiz Capoeira, El Convento Rico...He is now performing and teaching with Mil Pasos and other companies in GTA and others area of Ontario and Quebec.
